Hi, My name is Jennifer Armstrong, I currently live in Sacramento with my Fiancé and my son. I am 21 years old. On my free time I love spending time with my family and friends. As for my journey to become a dental hygienist, it was my Junior year of high school, I was at the dentist getting my teeth cleaned when the dental hygienist asked me what I wanted to do after high school, well I was not sure, but I have always loved science and math. She mentioned how I took such good care of my teeth and how I was such a friendly person and how great I would be in the dental field. Well from that point on the dental field it was. Right after high school I enrolled into the dental assisting program, which I just loved, but I knew I couldn't stop there. I am such an independent person and wanted to help people one step further, and I knew dental hygiene would be a perfect for me. I then enrolled into my prerequisite courses. finally it was time to apply for dental hygiene. The suspense of waiting was torturous, when I finally received that letter saying congratulations your in, I knew my dream career was just going to be right around the corner. The dental hygiene program has been something I have never experienced before, and that I will never forget. I have been so lucky to have two of my closest friends right there with me to cheer me on when things are hard and to laugh with, they are two friends I will always have. I am so excited to continue my education in this program. With that said, this term I will be taking dental hygiene care for patients with special needs, where I will learn how to manage those patients with disabilities, I will then be adding onto this website with different mock case studies and different journal articles. I will also utilize this website with my periodontics course.
